This morning, we will start our 4-day Tour from Fes to Marrakech Via Merzouga desert by gaining altitude and traveling through Morocco’s cedar forest region. Crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will descend by Way of the Ziz Valley.
Our 4-day Fes to Marrakech Desert trip takes you through the Tafilalt region, we will begin to see verdant date palms lining the edge of the beautiful Sahara Desert. We now find ourselves in an area of great historical significance, as this region once marked the crossroads of the West African caravan routes, and is the origin of the establishment of the Alaouite dynasty.
When we reach Merzouga Erg Chebbi, You will welcomed by a cup of tea and meet a camel caravan at the departure place where you will experience 1-hour camel ride to get to your Sahara desert camp for the night. Enjoy the sunset at the dunes of Erg Chebbi and dine before enjoying the campfire and star-gazing.
Today, after breakfast at the Merzouga Desert camp, we will begin our Day trip to Visit a Nomad family living in the Sahara. We will then visit Mefis, a small abandoned village still standing in the area, where you can explore the remnants of French colonial-era lead and mineral mines. Continuing our excursion, we will take a road where we might encounter a nomadic family living in tents, giving us a chance to learn about their unique lifestyle and traditions.
After that, we will explore the stunning Erg Chebbi, its quaint village, and the vast expanse of the sandy desert where the Big Dune of Morocco is located. We will continue along the path once taken by the "Paris-Dakar" rally, ending our tour in the captivating black desert.
Our following stop will be at a scenic viewpoint where we can admire the entirety of Erg Chebbi. From there, we will arrive at Kamilia village, home to many dark-skinned inhabitants originally from Africa. Here, we'll enjoy a soothing cup of tea while listening to a live performance of traditional Gnawa music.
Have lunch at a local restaurant in Khamlia village. Enjoy traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine, Berber pizza, and fresh salads. After that, you will be welcomed by a cup of tea and spend overnight at your hotel or riad.
Today after breakfast with a shower at your hotel. we will travel westward to the foothills of the High Atlas mountains and the famous natural gorges, the Todra gorges, and Dades valley.
Our Fes to Marrakech desert tour for 4 days will be about 6 to 7 hours. Tonight we will overnight in the Dades Valley, at the charming riad of the region.
This Morning after breakfast at your hotel, we will have the opportunity to visit some of the beautiful landscapes of Morocco’s most interesting kasbah monuments, on the road to Marrakech, before crossing the High Atlas mountains. the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, and the Telouet Kasbah.
Explore the patchwork of Berber villages in the river valleys in this area and the contrast of colors as the scenery changes; from arid pre-Saharan to alpine to farmland and olive groves. Cross the mountains at the Tichka Pass and gradually descend to the plain of Marrakech, expecting to arrive late afternoon (Excursion time approx. 7.5 hours).
